Ever changing Mohamed Mahmoud Street, Cairo, Egypt

On the 19 September, the day that I returned home to Cairo, the government powers painted over the street graffiti in downtown. As we drove through Tahrir square in the weee hours on our way home, we saw them whitewashing the walls of Mohamed Mahmoud Street. But, before the whitewash dried that day, the artists were back in force to repaint a completely different series. Mohamed Mahmoud street graffiti has become the voice of the revolutionaries and our open air art gallery. This is just one section of the graffiti-lined street with some of the most amazing artistry. The artwork this time is breathtaking.
